A list of the Rectors of Harlaxton is currently near the north east window above Dan. de Ligne’s tomb, and the earliest name listed is that of the first known Rector, Alanus, who served the parish in 1185.
For some 300 years the patron of the living of Harlaxton was the prebend of South Grantham in Salisbury Cathedral.
Later it passed into the hands of Queen's College Oxford and now it is in the joint hands of the Bishop of Lincoln and the Diocesan Board of Patronage.
