Jesus said:
Matthew 6:6
'But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen.'
Prayer is an essential part of the Christian's life. When we pray we are 'Being with Jesus, with others on our heart'
Each month. alongside prayers for your family, your community and yourselves we ask that you might consider prayers for a particular topic.
December 2025
This month we are praying for those who struggle at Christmas time for many different reasons:
Among UK adults, more than 40% reported feeling stressed during December; about 30% experienced anxiety
- Financial pressure — costs of gifts, meals, travel, socialising.
- Social isolation / loneliness — people living alone, estranged from family, or without supportive networks often feel it more acutely.
- Stress from expectations and obligations — social pressure to organise gatherings, meet expectations, get presents, host meals etc. can lead to burnout, anxiety, and exhaustion.
- Seasonal/ environmental factors — shorter days, colder, darker weather can exacerbate conditions like Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), contributing to depressed mood or sleep problems.
So, let's pray for them this month, that they might know the love of God made visible in the baby Jesus.
- people living in war zones
- those who have lost people this year
- families who are struggling financially
- for family relationships over the festive season
- for those who are homeless, especially families living in bedsits or hotels
- for those struggling with their mental health
